Where to stay in Assinie
We have no verified hotel list, so we publish no star ratings, prices or amenities. Here is what we can state about the area, and what to ask before you book.
What is established
Assinie has two parts: a western part bordered by the ocean alone and reached by road, and an eastern peninsula about 15 km long between the ocean and the lagoon, where luxury villas and paillotes stand. A Club Méditerranée village opened in 1969 and a second holiday village at Assouindé in 1980. The peninsula is reached by car, private boat or pirogue.
Questions to ask before booking
Is the property on the ocean side or the lagoon side? How do I get there, by road or by boat, and who organises the transfer? What are the swimming conditions that day (see our beaches page)? What is the cancellation policy, and will I get an official receipt?
What we removed
A previous version of this page described five-star resorts, boutique hotels, stilt lodges and family hotels, with a booking lead time. We could not verify any of it, so we removed it.
